Welcome to Greater Buffalo Works
For customers

Our Mission ~ Grounded in a "work-first" philosophy and recognizing each participant's unique needs, the mission of Greater Buffalo Works (GBW) is to professionally assist eligible individuals in their goal of transitioning to and maintaining economic self-sufficiency for themselves and their families.

Customer's Mission ~ After receiving a referral to GBW (from a case worker at Erie County Department of Social Services if on Public Assistance, or from Family Court if a non-custodial parent), follow through with scheduled appointments, engage in all activities that are mutually agreed upon, and set your mental attitude to leave the public assistance rolls and become self-sufficient.

Greater Buffalo Works provides a myriad of services from referrals to training agencies, case management, workshops on resume writing and interview techniques, job placement and post-employment assistance.
